Develop Your Passion for Learning

“Learning is not attained by chance, it must be sought for with ardor and diligence.” ~ Abigail Adams,L (November 11 1744 – October 28 1818) was the wife of John Adams, the second President of the United States

Some people thrive on learning and seek it with a passion. For many of us, it can feel overwhelming- one more thing on our “to do” list.  And it sometimes requires an investment of time and money.

Human service continuing education is what we offer human service professionals because:

  • Learning and professional growth provides better service to clients and communities
  • Learning reduces stress and enhances your self-care because you have improved skills and knowledge to address new and/or complex situations and client needs
  • Professional development and learning is part of the NASW Code of Ethics and a similar component in many other professions
  • Learning can help advance your career and maintain your value to your employer
  • Applicable continuing education hours are available for license registration renewal

Use of social media and technology such as Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, blogs, apps, e-newsletters, and others can help you stay current in your field.
